Reference for 1970s BREITLING Datora Cal.7734 Mens Chronograph Watch

This watch is a 1970s Breitling design classic with features including the oval denim-blue colour twin sub-dials and the signature bright orange chronograph hands.

It has a well-balanced dial with the functionality of the (red) date wheel at the six o’clock position. The case has some signs of wear, as should be expected, but the dial and hands in partcular are truly outstanding.

There is wear to the crown, but it would appear to be the original crown and the Breitling “B” logo is still clear to see. The engraving to the case back is still clearly legible and has reference number: “2018” and serial number “1 420 029”.

This watch houses its original Breitling-signed movement, being the very highly regarded (Valjoux-based) Calibre 7734 manually-wound chronograph movement. It has been tested and is running superbly, considering it is near 50 years old! Testament to how well these movements were made. At the time of testing it is showing a very healthy amplitude reading of 305 and seriously impressive accuracy (to modern day Chronometer standards!) within +3 seconds per day.

The case measures 37mm width, excluding crown & chrono pushers and will accommodate a 20mm strap between the lugs. It is attached to a good quality stitched blue genuine leather (non-Breitling) strap in very good used condition with a stainless steel buckle.
