Today I’m taking you above the chaos of Jakarta to spend a few quiet minutes with a vintage hidden gem Seiko Quartz Type II, reference 7546‑7000, serial 853852 — produced in May 1978. This mid‑range Japan‑Domestic‑Market Seiko was born in the heart of the quartz revolution, offering reliable accuracy and everyday practicality without the price tag of Seiko’s top‑tier quartz models. With a compact 41 mm lug‑to‑lug and just 31.7 mm including crown, it’s a subtle, comfortable dress‑size watch for people who prefer character over hype. In this video I talk about: • The story of Seiko’s Type II line in the late 1970s • The 7546 quartz movement and how we decode the May 1978 production date • How this watch feels on the wrist in 2026 • Why a small vintage Seiko still makes sense in a loud, fast city like Jakarta If you’re into vintage Seiko, JDM pieces, or just appreciate honest, reliable watches with a bit of soul, this one might speak to you. Like, comment, and subscribe if you enjoy this kind of story‑driven watch content — and let me know in the comments: would you wear a small 1978 quartz watch in 2026?
